Diseases that affect memory are difficult for everyone involved– at College Street, our goal is to make this transition as easy as possible. We understand how difficult this transition can be for families and strive to make families feel comfortable knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

Memory care facilities are wonderful communities that allow you peace of mind, and your loved one the care and attention they need. Acting as a caregiver on your own can be stressful and overwhelming. Our goal is to make this transition into memory care facilities as easy as possible for everyone involved.

Our memory care facility includes premium safety features, a wide variety of amenities, and a private living space for your loved one.

Those who need long-term care usually require assistance with basic personal needs and not medical care, but we offer both at our facility.

Our staff assist with basic personal care tasks that are often referred to as Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and include tasks such as:

  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Tolieting and Care for Incontinence
  • Transfers to chairs and beds
  • Eating and Medical Nutritional Therapy (add permalink here)

We also assist with everyday tasks that are referred to as Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) that include:

  • Housework and Cleaning
  • Managing Medications
  • Meal Preparation and Clean up
  • Shopping
  • Using telephones and other communication devices such as tablets or computers
  • Assistance with responding to Emergency Alerts like fire alarms or carbon monoxide warnings

We believe that Alzheimer’s and Dementia should not change the quality of life our residents receive and work tirelessly with our residents on maintaining a sense of identity, and a strong sense of purpose. With this approach, we have been able to allow residents to safely engage in activities they love.

We have specific activities for our residents in memory care to help improve information retention and improve the amount of independence our residents are allowed.

This process can be heart-wrenching and you probably have a lot of questions of where you need to start, we encourage you to book a time to tour the facility so you can speak with a staff member to understand what the future looks like for you and your loved one.

Our services are charged per day/per week/per month and are/are not covered by most insurance. To talk about the needs of your loved one and whether or not a memory care facility is the best option for you, call (409) 210 2180 to talk to a staff member and learn more about the services offered.
